The bulk of the materials in the collection relate to Krause's experience in transportation related matters and legislative papers and correspondence from his tenure as a state representative. Transportation materials include documents and correspondence related to railroad legislation, the Cedar Rapids Municipal Airport, motorcycle laws, Iowa's snow removal policies, departmental rules of the Iowa highway commission, rural highway ratings, insurance issues, funding for roads, urban transit studies, motor vehicle inspection, trucking regulations, transportation plans, the Iowa Dept. of Transportation, National Transportation Week, National Advisory Task Force on Positive Guidance materials, and various proposals, projects, etc. from the Center for Transportation of the Council of State Governments.
